How are GoThotics Custom Orthotic Insoles Different Than Store bought Insoles?
What’s the Difference Between Over-the-Counter & Custom Insoles?
The difference between custom molded orthotics and over-the-counter insoles is huge! Custom orthotics are fitted to your individual foot contours and shape, while over-the-counter insoles are generic and mass produced footbeds. Dr. Scholl’s “custom orthotics” are mass produced in China!
In contrast, GoThotics is a custom molded foot orthotic laboratory with integrity. We have invested in the most advanced CAD/CAM technology from Germany and the United Kingdom. CAD/CAM is an acronym for computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing. A true custom orthotic requires a mold of your foot to assess the unique contours and shape of your feet. We also will take into account important factors such as your age, your weight, type of activity and the style of shoe you are using your insole in.
When your foot molds arrive at our laboratory we use a five camera 3D scanner called the IQube and the Orthomodel/Orthomill Delcam orthotic software system to design and manufacture the most accurate orthotic device that current technology has to offer. Our CNC machine mills the basic core of your orthotic called the “shell” and than your orthotic insole is hand finished by our fabricators. You can be assured that the custom orthotic products you receive from GoThotics are of the same quality as the devices you would receive from your podiatrist, orthopedist, chiropractor or sports specialists, for a lot less money.
Your foot imprints are stored into our database so that you can order additional pairs of orthotic insoles for all of the different styles of shoes you wear without having to take a new mold of your feet. Very convenient!
